Hello Hive Multiverse!
Here I am again with another episode from my Incredible Thai Adventures.
This time I went to the island of Koh Tao in southern Thailand for a Psychedelic Trance festival around new year's eve called "The Experience Festival".
I remember being in Bangkok before going to Koh Tao and talking with people about going there they were all saying I should have not gone because of the storms happening at that time. There was indeed at the end of December 2017 a big tropical cyclone, named Typhoon Tembin, that originated in the Philippines with also bad repercussions in Southern Vietnam and some in Southern Thailand.
Well, the boat trip from Chumphon to Koh Tao was terrible, navigating in the middle of a storm. But, as you can see, I survived!
The arrival at Koh Tao island was welcomed by an incessant rain, which, based on the weather predictions, was going to be present for the whole week. But then, magic happened, and at the second day in the island, the rain stopped and the sun came back and the festival was absolutely amazing!
If you have never been at a Psy Trance festival you do not have any idea of what I am talking about, but I assure you, it is a very nice experience. The whole festival ground at this kind of gatherings is always wonderfully decorated with psychedelic fluorescent decorations, lit by fluorescent lights in the night.
People there are simply amazing, there is some kind of a hippie atmosphere where everyone is happy and caring for each other, sharing hugs and smiles with anyone. I have already been at many festivals and parties of the kind and I always had a good time, and absolutely never seen anything bad happening there and never a fight happening, the people there are just so lovely. So even for someone like me, travelling by myself, was impossible not to make friends over there!
