Ahoy there, I had a rare night where the clouds cleared from the sky and the northern lights were dancing about. I grabbed my phone and a small tripod, then headed out behind our friends house to get some nice shots.
I was thankful that the Northern Lights, for once, were actually on the northern side of town! That meant I didn't have as far to travel to get some photos. I live so far north that most of the time we have to look south in order to see the northern lights. 😅
Towards the south is also the town and all its light pollution, so you can see why I was happy the lights were to the north.
Proud of my girl for standing so still for so long. Not that I told her to stay, she just did. Which is awesome because she's the type of dog that likes to ruin your photography chances. I think the amount of pictures I have of her with no blur are a handful at best.
Gear for this shot was dead simple. A Samsung S20 in "night mode" and a cheap $15 tripod.
