Today's hero of my post will be the beautiful DAHLIA flower. If I remember correctly, dahlias have already appeared on my profile before, but today I wanted to show this flower in a slightly different way.
At first I wanted these photos to look much more natural and I also took a few shots in that style, but during editing I started moving the sliders in Lightroom more towards darkness and a cinematic atmosphere. To my surprise I came to the conclusion that dahlias actually look really good in a dark aesthetic, creating a very cinematic mood in this way. I think that sometimes it is worth stepping away from ordinary photography and simply letting your imagination take over. Things like this also help us grow creatively.
And now a few facts about DAHLIAS:
Dahlias originate from Mexico and Central America and their name comes from the Swedish botanist Anders Dahl. At this moment, there are thousands of dahlia varieties, differing in color, size and also the arrangement of petals. Some of them can even reach more than one and a half meters in height.
Dahlias are flowers that love sunlight and bloom best in warm places. I found my specimen in the botanical garden in Cologne. They are very popular flowers in botanical gardens because of their huge variety of forms, colors and overall aesthetics. Their intense colors make them one of the most frequently photographed ornamental flowers in the world.
