This summer I spent a long, unhurried time in the Botanical Garden in Cologne (Germany). It was one of those perfect time periods when everything seems to bloom at once. The garden was full of life, light was soft and there was no pressure to move on quickly. I could simply stay, observe and photograph as I like do. So I managed to capture a lot of beautiful plants and flowers through my lens.
One of the flowers I photographed that day was DAHLIA.
DAHLIAS originate from Central America and belong to the Asteraceae family. Today they are widely cultivated and admired for their extraordinary diversity. There are thousands of varieties, differing in shape, size and color. Their layered petals and richly textured centers create a natural balance between delicacy and structure.
Beyond their ornamental value, dahlias are often associated with inner strength, resilience and quiet elegance. Qualities that don’t need intensity or brightness to stand out.
This series is not about botanical accuracy or technical perfection.
It’s about mood. About softness. About the kind of beauty that becomes visible when the light fades and details begin to speak more clearly than sharp edges.
I hope you will enjoy it!
