"Plaza Altamira", is an urbanization located in the Municipality of Chacao east of Caracas, inaugurated on August 11, 1945, later on January 17, 1967 by a binational agreement that promised a Plaza Francia in Caracas and a plaza Venezuela in Paris, was called Plaza Francia. An obelisk located in its center and a fountain of a mirror of water that falls at the bottom of the square draws your attention, it is a point of reference for the meeting and the distraction of people, for the pedestrian on foot, the station is close by. of the Caracas Metro, in its surroundings we can see three avenues that pass through its edges, large financial, residential and cultural buildings. Many are the events that take place in the square, Cultural Acts, Book Fair, as well as Graduations and Political Acts. Today was a good day to walk around and remember that a few years ago I passed through here, that day the Plaza was dressed up as a gala. The great Book Fair was inaugurated where many publishers, great authors, national and international special guests and a large audience participated. It was a space for the presentation of books, audiovisual projection, poetry recital, there are many activities that were presented every day that one could not miss, reading had its special place and precisely I had to read some short stories to My nephew, since he wanted me to read them to him and end up buying him a few, a very quick reading that caught him immediately, he still keeps the stories, he is already 13 years old, these sites of intellectual enrichment for culture and reading are always present in our country because they constitute an important event in our society.

Plaza Francia
“Plaza Altamira”, es una urbanización ubicada en el Municipio Chacao al este de Caracas, inaugurada el 11 de agosto de 1945, más tarde el 17 de enero de 1967 por un acuerdo binacional que prometía una Plaza Francia en Caracas y una plaza Venezuela en Paris, fue llamada Plaza Francia. Llama su atención un obelisco situado en su centro y una fuente de espejo de agua que cae en el fondo de la plaza, es u punto de referencia para el encuentro y la distracción de las personas, para el transeúnte de a pie tiene cerca la estación del Metro de Caracas, en sus alrededores podemos ver tres avenidas que pasan por sus bordes, grandes edificios financieros, residenciales y culturales. Muchos son los eventos que se realizan en la plaza, Actos Culturales, Feria del Libro, como también Graduaciones y Actos político. Hoy fue un día bueno para pasear y recordar que hace unos años pase por aquí, ese día la Plaza se vistió de gala Inauguraba la gran Feria del Libro donde participaban muchas editoriales, grandes autores, invitados especiales nacionales e internacionales y mucho público. Era un espacio para la presentación de libros, proyección de audiovisuales, recital de poesía, son muchas las actividades que se presentaban cada día que uno no se lo podía perder, la lectura tenía su lugar especial y precisamente me toco leerle unos cuentos cortos a mi sobrino ya que quería que se los leyera y acabe comprándole unos cuantos, una lectura muy rápida que lo atrapo de inmediato aún conserva los cuentos, el ya tiene 13 años, estos sitios de enriquecimiento intelectual para la cultura y la lectura siempre están presentes en nuestro país porque constituyen un acontecimiento importante en nuestra sociedad.
