Hey Guys!
As I always believe, the Universe works in mysterious ways and my wish was answered! The spring here in Canada has been amazing so far! I used to always complain about this time of year because it is usually gloomy and cold. Therefore, as some of you may know, two years ago just before the COVID pandemic broke, I was ready to go to Slovakia. I was going to visit my sister and stay for three moths. The spring in my country is always beautiful and comes much sooner.
So I booked my thicket and you know what happened! Oh well! Here we are two years later, still dealing with this horrible pandemic! Yet, there is always something positive in life to focus on so please do not forget that! Our trip to the SAND LAKE even though only for couple of days, is a great example.
This place is located near KEARNEY Town, Ontario, Canada, about three hours drive from where we live. My son in law's client owns cottage there and something was needed to be fixed. My son in law have done lots of work there already, for example he build the porch and deck. The cottage looks actually more like a house and is huge, It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, big kitchen, living room and dinning room. Basement is huge too but is not finished yet, although the house is quite old.
Nevertheless, what I love the most about this cottage is the breathtaking view. And this is only early April when the trees are still bare and grass is dry. I only wish to go back again at summertime, unfrutenetly, this is a rental cottage for tourists and summer is already fully booked. Unless of course Toronto will be under lock down the whole summer, which I pray will not!!!We are actulay under lock down since Wednesday, but since my son in law went there for work, we were okay, lol.
As you can see, the lake was still partially frozen, because this location is up North. Yet those two days we were there, the temperature was actulay higher there than in Toronto. It was 22C Wednesday and 23C Thursday and the ice was literary melting front of our eyes!
You can clearly see the difference on these two images. The first one I took Wednesday morning and the second one afternoon.
I also made a short video on Thursday afternoon for you to see how much ice was melted by then. At first I made a Gif, which would be a lot better, but when I uploaded, it was not showing up here. To bad :(
Nevertheless, I hope you get the idea of this wonderful experience. My grandsons were even playing with left over ice on Thursday and jumping in and out of the cold water screaming and laughing lol. They really had a blast!
The sunset was spectacular too! Everything was golden and silver with sparkle. Unfortunately, my camera was unable to capture the full glory! I need a better lens.
And then it tuned to pink as you can see on the photo here.
These were definitely two days I never forget and I am grateful for. And not only because of the peaceful beauty I was surrounded by, but also because I was there with my loving family and my precious grandsons.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you have joyful moments in your life even during these difficult times. Wish you all the best and stay safe.
