DONAU CITY
I can't do much with sterile high-rise housing estates. I was also glad when I was gone again. There is not much sign of human life in areas like Donau City. Most of the buildings are used as shops and offices, but there are also flats. How can one live there voluntarily? I also suspect that the flats in these high-rises are not even particularly cheap.
If several billion euros have already been piled up there, maybe I can take some cool pictures of the partly futuristic buildings. Except for one picture, I took all the pictures in this post with an ND 1000 filter. The exposure times were between 10 and 20 seconds. In my opinion, this is quite suitable for depicting such buildings.
Ich kann ja mit sterilen Hochhaussiedlungen nicht viel anfangen. Ich war auch froh, als ich wieder weg war. Vom menschlichen Leben ist in solchen Gebieten wie der Donau City nicht viel zu spüren. Die meisten Gebäude werden zwar als Geschäftsräume und Büros genutzt aber es gibt dort auch Wohnungen. Wie kann man dort freiwillig wohnen? Ich vermute auch, dass die Wohnungen in diesen Hochhäusern nicht einmal besonders günstig sind.
Wenn dort schon mehrere Millarden Euro in die Höhe gestapelt wurden kann ich vielleicht ein paar coole Bilder von den teils futuristischen Gebäuden machen. Bis auf ein Bild habe ich alle Bilder in diesem Beitrag mit einem ND 1000 Filter aufgenommen. Die Belichtungszeiten betrugen zwischen 10 und 20 Sekunden. Meiner Meinung nach ist das für die Darstellung solcher Gebäude ganz passend.
At 220 metres, DC Tower 1 is the tallest building in Donau City, and also in the whole of Austria if I'm not mistaken. The building was completed in 2013 and is used as a hotel and office space. The unusual façade is supposed to represent the waves of the Danube. You have to come up with such nonsense first.
Der DC Tower 1 ist mit 220 Metern das höchste Gebäude in der Donau City, und auch in ganz Östereich wenn ich mich nicht irre. Fertigestellt wurde das Gebäude im Jahr 2013. Genutzt wird es als Hotel und für Büroräume. Die ungewöhnliche Fassade soll die Wellen der Donau darstellen. Auf so einen Unfug muss man erstmal kommen.

The Neue Donau apartment building was built between 1999 and 2002. Including the concrete sculpture on the roof, it has a height of 150 metres, making it one of the tallest residential buildings in Vienna. It has 33 floors.
