Attending this festival was not planned for me and I practically ran into thanks to a few friends I was photo-traveling with on that sunny but cold day.
The old and beautiful central square of the small mountain town of Tryavna in Central Bulgaria.
I didn't know what exactly I am witnessing that day.
The vent was very noisy, full of happy people and astonished observers.
Of course, it took me an instant to take out my camera and start browsing and exploring the event by capturing those colorful people and their sunny faces (well, the most of them ;)))
Later on when I researched it, I found out that this is a National Folklore Festival, with a name that is quite hard to translate into English, but it would be something like "Over-dancing with Balkans". It was open to all ages and all kind of folklore dance groups and the only requirement to participate is each dance to be less than 5 minutes long.
Let me mention, some of the folklore costumes were a total mystery to me, especially the pink head-scarfs. I can't say that's something typical or usual.
