Have you ever imagined being in ancient Indonesia? Time travel to an ancient Javanese market and to a traditional market in a quiet bamboo garden, with music and children playing traditional games.
I really enjoy being able to interact with visitors and sellers here. They are friendly and warm. The atmosphere is relaxed and calm, a combination of clean air and views from inside the well-maintained bamboo forest.
And the food area starts from snacks, main dishes to traditional herbal drinks. I came here to try sego corn and ice dawet.
Buying and selling transactions also use "Prings" or bamboo chips which are exchanged when entering the area.
1 piece of pring (bamboo) = IDR 2,000
Everything here is environmentally friendly, no plastic, only banana leaf and bamboo baskets. All the equipment is traditional, cooking utensils made from clay, cutlery made from coconut & bamboo. Shops selling bamboo make you increasingly transported to an aesthetically ancient era.
Then there are also several handicraft products such as: traditional bamboo toys, woven bamboo crafts and local agricultural products.
This market is only held every Wage and Pound Sunday from 6am - 12pm. The enthusiasm and dedication of the residents in organizing the Papringan Market is very impressive.
The route from Yogyakarta City to Papringan Market, Temanggung, Central Java only takes 2 hours 30 minutes.
