I found a SANDY BEACH 🏝️ that is fully surrounded by #FORESTS 🌳 🌲 there is so much to see and #discover at KILLINGSANDS havsbad in ROBERTSFORS, Västerbotten County, SWEDEN. 🇸🇪
Nobody was around… JUST US AND NATURE… even though it was the height of the summer 😳

We drove along the #coastline of Sweden in the summer of 2024. We wanted a lunch break with #homemade sandwiches 🥪
So I searched for a spot to stop on our trip. I saw a beach on google maps with parking, bins and toilet facilities. 🅿️ Yep, it sounds perfect for us. We are headed over there, driving through forests on a small sandy and winding path. 😊 We parked our car 🚗 there is space for several more, even camper vans 🚐 would fit here easily.
After seeing what I saw next, I just had to jump out of the car and go #explore this beautiful place first. 😎 Come… let’s go 🤩
My view through the trees 🌲 🌳
The sea / Gulf of Bothnia peeking through the trees 🌳
It was windy 🌬️ but that doesn’t matter. The sun ☀️ is shining strong.
Slowly I walk over the sandy path towards the beach 🏝️
A little boardwalk goes over a stream. I see picnic tables and benches… perfect for lunch, don't you think? 😁
The picnic tables are weathered and the wood turned light grey. A beautiful contrast with the dark blue water and light blue sky 😎
We walk through the soft sand. Let’s take off our shoes 👞 and feel the sand go through our toes. 🥰 The ground underneath us. Yes, this is lovely. We #FEEL nature now even closer by.
As we walk along the water we see some overspill of the Gulf, maybe even the stream. The red colour in it is fascinating. I know there is a lot of iron in the ground in northern Sweden, would it spill all the way to the waterfront? 🤔
I hop over it, looking back at the area we came from. The trees of the forest 🌳 reach all the way into the gulf of bothnia. Pretty cool 😎
The water is very dark today, maybe a storm is coming. The sky is clear and the sun is shining strong but the wind is fierce…
The sounds of the waves crashing is wonderful 🙂
As we walk further we reach almost the end of this beach. There are more rocks 🪨
Shall we jump between the puddles or shall we just walk through them?
Yep, through them is fine. The water is warmed up by the sun. Much much warmer than the water of the Gulf. 🤓
Stunning views… we see the tree line disappear in the distance.
We reach the larger rocks 🪨 now. Taking in some details 😎 of course!
Some are red coloured. Beautiful 🤩
We walk onto the soft sand now… it is lovely. Not too hot luckily. We walk further back to the low dunes and grasses. More picnic tables around us.
A life buoy 🛟 just in case you would see somebody that needs help.
The dunes disappear into the forest. 🌳 What a lovely place to spend some time. One could even put up a tent 🏕️ there.
I picked up a stone… and we sit down along the beach at a picnic table. Enjoying the views and silence around us. Truly… nobody is here. 🥰

We are half way on the beach now. Sticking our toes deep in the soft sand. Very tranquil 🥰 the way we like it.
After a while we walk further. I capture some more details, like the grasses… the background make them stand out.

It holds the dunes together…
We walk back to the car and grab our sandwiches 🥪 and eat them at the picnic table 😁 yes… we found a perfect spot.
Don't miss this beach if you would visit northern Sweden. It truly is a hidden gem. 🤩
