Hi all 😊
(Favourite photo of all)
2021 almost comes to an end. And as the Photography Lovers community gives us the opportunity to enter this contest.
What is already a great way to show you the highlights of my year : 2021
What happened, where did I visit and what did I do…
I thought let’s choose one or a few photos from each month to highlight my journey 😎
Photographs are taken on my iPhone. My DSLR camera died in my last trip when visiting Cuba.
To start with JANUARY
We where living in Cádiz city at that time and we visited El Puerto de Santa Maria, Cádiz Spain. What was about half an hour drive away.
It has a beautiful castle in its historic center. I tried to capture a part of the castle through this tree. To photograph the castle, seen from a “different” angle.
San Marcos Castle is a 13th-century fortress, commissioned by Alfonso X "The Wise" upon the remains of a Moorish mosque on the banks of the Guadalete River. It is beautifully preserved and open to the public.
For more information visit The website of the Castle
FEBRUARY
😎 I built a new coffee table out of old pallets I collected along the road. 🪚🔨💪🏻
I firstly dismantled them, got rid of all the nails and put this table together. Measurements are 120 x 122,5 x 34 cm. (I put in the screws in a way you can’t see them.)
To stay a little longer in February… We went for a walk along the boulevard in Cádiz City and I took this photo.
You can see the Cathedral of Cádiz and the historic center behind it.
MARCH
As we found out last time, (a few months ago) El Puerto de Santa Maria is a beautiful town and not crowded at all. You can walk there and don’t see anybody.
Here the beach of El Puerto de Santa Maria. It is very wide and has soft sand. A little boardwalk goes also along it.
When we went through the center we walked towards the castle again where I took the next photo. You can see a larger part now from it.
APRIL
My monstera “Beasty II” got it’s first leaf with a hole. 🥳 She is 2 years old in this photo.
This little plant has some travel experience…
Before our move to Malta from Spain, we were living in Sotogrande, Spain. I had lots and lots of plants there, everywhere in the house. I love plants 🌱 🥰 but unfortunately I couldn’t take them, as our belongings went into an container for weeks to be shipped. (I found a good new home for them)
I did manage to take a baby from my, then 1,50 meter tall Monstera called “Beasty”… and it survived 🎉🎉
2 times in an airplane ✈️ in my hand luggage 🧳
To Malta and back to Spain again. 😊
The last 2 photos from April show you a walk along the Río Roche, Conil de La Frontera, Cádiz Spain
The path goes partly through a woody area along the river. You can cross it at some point and walk back along the beach front.
MAY
2 May there was an old timer parked outside our apartment building, I just had to photograph.
June
We visited Estepona as we were looking to move to the area. We found this beautiful house in the center that I just needed to photograph.
The current new owner is renovating it fully to make an Airbnb out of it and a part will become a creative area.
JULY
As some may know I am a FineArt Artist and Photographer. But I also collect artworks from other artists I admire.
In July I received this original Brush Meditation 6.8 from Leo Shallat, all the way from Seattle USA. It measures 22 x 28 cm
I’m so happy with it… it’s amazing 🤩 😎
AUGUST
Another visit to the area around Estepona.
We stayed as a little treat in this hotel for a few days as we hadn’t had a vacation in a while… mainly to view a few houses.
It’s a newly renovated building turned into an amazing hotel. If you look up in the lobby you see this ceiling. 🥰
Hotel El Pilar in Estepona, Málaga Spain
We found end of the month a new rental and we moved in 26 of August.
Lots to unpack and organise again… but I’m used to it by now… 😉📦📦📦
SEPTEMBER
My BIRTHDAY 🥳🥳😁🤣
In September we had also a really bad fire close by that burned down 10,000 hectare of forest. It burned for 6 full days and took weeks to get it further under control. The seaplanes were flying during daytime non stop. 1 month later it wasn’t extinguished yet. Thousands of people had to be evacuated… Luckily it is out now and the mountain will recover one day.
Scary to say the least… 😞
OCTOBER
I repaired and added to a 10 meter long mural up in the mountains from Arenas, Spain.
I painted it 6 years ago and some water from within the wall damaged some parts. It is a TREE OF LIFE with lots of birds, insects and animals.
As it is a tree I also let it grow a bit further… so new branches and leaves and birds, insects and animals were added 😉
I will show you the entire step by step in a new post soon… 😉
NOVEMBER
We visited the mountain city of Granada in Spain.
It was a very cold and wet weekend, but still gorgeous. The leaves turned with the autumn season, a thing you don’t see along the coast where we live now.
And last but not least…
DECEMBER
The thing that stands out the most this month was selling my CLASSIC MINI I owned for over 10 years.
Here she gets loaded up to be brought to her new owner.
Bye bye… will never forget you and our crazy adventures together 🥰🥰👋🏻👋🏻🖤🖤
😁And me becoming a member of the HIVE COMMUNITY on 8 December 2021 stands out too, but I do not have a photograph of that. 🎉🎉😎
I had so much fun already…
I hope you enjoyed looking back with me at my highlights from each month this year… 2021
As you see it was quite an eventful year. 😎
Thank you for looking and reading 😊 and supporting me. 🙏
Have a great day all 😎👋🏻
