HOLA, como estan #PhotographyLovers?, ayer decidí embarcarme en una pequeña excursión a una de las partes más exclusivas de Medina, un lugar de gente adinerada que siempre había imaginado como un mini paraíso. En contraste con mi lado de la ciudad, desolado y rodeado por unas pocas plantas y aves dispersas, este sitio parecía salido de un cuento.
HELLO #Hive, how are you #PhotographyLovers? Yesterday I decided to embark on a little excursion to one of the most exclusive parts of Medina, a place of wealthy people that I had always imagined as a mini paradise. In contrast to my side of the city, desolate and surrounded by a few plants and scattered birds, this place seemed straight out of a fairy tale.
Apenas llegué, la diferencia era tan obvia que casi me sentí transportada a otro mundo. La vegetación era exuberante, con jardines bien cuidados, palmeras que daban sombra y parterres llenos de flores de colores vibrantes. No podía evitar mirar a mi alrededor y sentirme como Alicia en el País de las Maravillas ajaja, descubriendo un pequeño Edén escondido en el corazón de Medina.
As soon as I arrived, the difference was so obvious that I almost felt transported to another world. The vegetation was lush, with well-kept gardens, shady palm trees and flowerbeds filled with vibrantly colored flowers. I couldn't help but look around and feel like Alice in Wonderland, discovering a little Eden hidden in the heart of Medina.
Caminando por las calles, me encontré con un buen número de aves que parecían tener todas las comodidades del mundo. Desde bulliciosas bandadas de aves de varias especies hasta majestuosos palomas, todas revoloteaban entre los árboles como si estuvieran en un resort de lujo. Incluso noté algunas aves que nunca había visto antes, probablemente atraídas por la abundancia de comida y la falta de depredadores... al menos hasta que aparecieron los verdaderos reyes de la calle: los gatos.
Walking through the streets, I came across a good number of birds that seemed to have all the comforts in the world. From bustling flocks of birds of various species to majestic pigeons, they all fluttered between the trees as if they were in a luxury resort. I even noticed some birds I had never seen before, probably attracted by the abundance of food and the lack of predators... at least until the real kings of the street appeared: the cats.
No podía faltar la presencia de esos felinos tan característicos de Medina, los gatos callejeros. Resultó que, hasta en este pequeño paraíso, los gatos habían encontrado su propio reino: los cestos de basura. Los veía merodear por los alrededores con la misma confianza que en cualquier otro rincón de la ciudad, escarbando en los cubos como auténticos exploradores. De alguna manera, parecía que estos gatos eran también parte del lugar, mezclando lo mundano con lo elegante en una escena tan peculiar que no pude evitar reír.
The presence of those felines so characteristic of Medina, the stray cats, could not be missed. It turned out that, even in this little paradise, the cats had found their own kingdom: the garbage cans. I saw them prowling around with the same confidence as in any other corner of the city, digging in the bins like real explorers. Somehow, it seemed that these cats were also part of the place, mixing the mundane with the elegant in a scene so peculiar that I couldn't help but laugh.
Uno de los momentos más graciosos fue cuando un gato particularmente gordo trató de entrar en un cubo que estaba demasiado alto para él. Después de varios intentos y lograr saltar, decidió mirarme fijamente como si yo tuviera la culpa de su torpeza. Me imaginé que si pudiera hablar, probablemente me estaría diciendo: "¡Hey, pudiste ser de ayuda aquí!". Finalmente, obtuvo su tan anelado banquete; muy merecido por todo su esfuerzo.
One of the funniest moments was when a particularly fat cat tried to get into a bucket that was too high for him. After several attempts and managing to jump, he decided to stare at me as if I was to blame for his clumsiness. I figured if he could talk, he would probably be saying, "Hey, you could have been helpful here!" Finally, he got his long-awaited treat; well deserved for all his effort.
A pesar de la gran diferencia entre mi zona desolada y este lugar verde lleno de lujos, me di cuenta de que, al final, la naturaleza encuentra su equilibrio. Las aves, los gatos y hasta los cestos de basura parecían coexistir perfectamente, y yo, entre risas, me sentí como una observadora privilegiada de esta comedia improvisada de la vida cotidiana en Medina.
Despite the vast difference between my desolate area and this green place full of luxury, I realized that, in the end, nature finds its balance. The birds, the cats, and even the trash cans seemed to coexist perfectly, and I, laughing, felt like a privileged observer of this improvised comedy of daily life in Medina.
