Two days ago around noon I noticed a hellish noise coming from the sky outside.... I went outside and looked up at the sky. At first I didn't see anything, because the noise was hard to identify. But then I spotted the Eurofighters and quickly went back into the house to get the camera. I quickly grabbed my Sony Alpha 7 III with the Sony 70-200 f2.8 still on it and hurried back outside.
I could see the two Eurofighter Typhoons very well through the camera and kept on it as best I could. It was very exciting to see how fast the Eurofighters were. In the meantime they were no longer there, but then they came back. I think such a manoeuvre is quite rare in this area in Germany.
Dogfight
A dogfight is a dynamic and intense aerial combat engagement between two or more fighter aircraft. In a dogfight, pilots engage in close-quarters maneuvering and tactics to gain a positional advantage over their opponents. The term "dogfight" originates from the evasive maneuvers and quick turns that are reminiscent of the unpredictable movements of dogs playing or fighting. Dogfights involve rapid changes in direction, altitude, and speed, as pilots try to outmaneuver their adversaries and position themselves for a successful attack. These engagements require a combination of flying skill, situational awareness, and tactical decision-making to achieve dominance over the opponent and ultimately secure a favorable firing solution for weapons like guns or missiles.
How I would have loved to have a 600mm lens that day :( Well... the 70-200 did a great job though.
