Ayia Napa International Sculpture Park, me, my friend and her children visited this year.
This is an open-air park a few meters from the sea.
It was opened in 2014.
The park is located 2-3 km. from the center of Ayia Napa.
The idea to create a sculpture park came from the administration of this city.
A competition was organized among those wishing to participate in the creation of sculptures for this park.
Participants had to send photos of at least four of their works and, in case of getting into the second round, provide a drawn model of the future sculpture.
The winners of this competition were provided by the Ayia Napa Municipality with supplies for the production of sculptures.
Requirement: sculptures had to be more than two meters in height or width.
The sculptures were made right in the park, in the open air, for three weeks.
Talented sculptors from many countries took part in the creation of the sculpture park:
Cyprus, Greece, Russia, Germany, New Zealand, Italy, France, Syria, Israel, Serbia, Egypt, Cuba, Tunisia, Colombia, Georgia, Argentina, Australia, Ukraine, Armenia, Brazil, Austria, India, Belgium, Albania, Costa -Rica and Chile.
