The little things in life, the things that make us grateful to be alive and surviving. The things that’ll remind us how blessed we are.
A familiar sight around Malioboro, female hawkers. These strong women are walking around the area selling either satay or instant beverages. She is the first that got into my frame this afternoon. I wanted to stop her but she was rushing, pushing her cart perhaps to a better spot.
Another familiar transportation around malioboro,a horse carriage. Interestingly in that picture, I captured the car, the motorbike and the horse carriage which used to be the traditional means of transportation in this city. Imagine how long it would take to travel, if the horse was your only way of transportation these days.
Quite rare sight. Just next to where people come and go to look around the clothes sold on the roadside, these uncles were playing mahjong from what it seems. I might be wrong because I can't be certain what game it was. They seemed to be enjoying it and didn't really care that I stopped and look at their game for a moment.
Do you think that uncle could win? I have no idea how the game works but from what I saw, they were having fun playing it.
Becak, this tricycle is somewhat newer form of transportation. They have been around since the 40's but much younger than the horse carriage. Nowdays, these becaks are motorized.
The drizzle didn't stop tourist to walk around the area without umbrella. Though the numbers are significantly reduced, there are people who walk leisurely in this area.
And just like that, the afternoon passed. Now, it's the time to rest, to greet another day.
