I did mention to you that I have an interest in photography. I love taking photos of the things I love the people, scenery, and other pieces of stuff that catch my attention. But I didn't mention that my favorite subject is myself. As much as I want to capture happening I also want to be captured. I have this do-it-yourself type of setup at home. I started realizing that I had this passion for myself when the pandemic started. Which is in college.
When I was still in high school, I didn't own any expensive mobile phones so if I took photos of myself, I needed to borrow phones from my classmates. The reason why I was deprived of having good sets of photos and the quality that isn't that good the word aesthetic isn't the vogue now. Although when I was still in my younger days I have already appreciated my beauty since many people would complement my looks. The online class started when my parent bought me a thousand phones which is 103.78 United States Dollars. I was really happy because the camera was good. I started doing home photoshoots when I was bored. I can't go out and I was stuck at home 24/7 again and again. So what I need is I take photos of myself. My photos at first, if I'm going to judge them, are quite different if I am going to compare.
In our generation when it is your birthday it feels like it is mandatory to post a new set of photos. My first ever self-shoot for my birthday is this photo. If I am not mistaken, I'm 20 at that time. I use what's in the house and I bought white cartolina that time for a more defined and plain backdrop.
So, to make this angle possible. I place the phone at a low angle and to make my legs look long, I adjust the perspective.
The photo looks blurry for the reason that I only have the light to reflect on my side and I shot this on an Android device Oppo A5s. The reason why I'm holding a cat is that he's so annoying every time I shoot, walking back and forth. Out of frustration, I grab him included in my shot.
This photo is where I started learning to use basic makeup. The first photo is a selfie. The time I discovered my face angle, which is the side where my jawline is defined.
The second photo aims at the concept of goddesses in mythology. I'm satisfied with the outcome.
This is a no-face photo, I was so bored at that time so I shot it myself. I'm still using my Oppo phone. In my photo, I aim for the minimalist concept. No hassle just me and my white background.

This photo indicates that this is not made out of boredom, this is made out of passion.
The stories of these photos that I make a school video specifically a sophisticated look. And I'm much more into the white and black combination and both are universal colors. The backdrop is plain white clothes
Saw clothes that got my attention, I tried to wear them and they looked good so I grabbed my tripod placed my phone, and then clicked. These photos are inspired by those Korean photos I saw on my social accounts.
Editing Apps
My photos won't turned out to be like these without those editing applications.
Lightroom
This is where I adjust the color grading of my photo
Snapseed
This is where I adjust the perspective, make the backdrop smooth, and extend.
These are only some of my personalized photos the current photos of mine were shot on my iPhone 8 device where whereas the others were shot in my Oppo A5s. To be honest, everything is a hassle, from preparing the setup, things to use, the concept as well as the editing part. But if you love what you are doing you won't mind the sweat and inconvenience. This is where I confess the love of my passion. Once again, thank you this is Jessiel, and thank you so much for getting some interest in reading my blogs.
Until next time fellow hivers.
Adios!
