Siempre he tenido la idea de que la mejor forma de conocer la ciudad (o al menos mi ciudad) es recorriendo sus calles a pie. A mi juicio, es la manera ideal de conectar con ella y de disfrutar de todo lo que tiene para ofrecer. Soy fanática de realizar caminatas por las calles de Caracas, descubriendo nuevos lugares que no tenía ni la más remota idea de que se encontraban ahí y disfrutando de la vista de el Cerro El Ávila desde cada rincón en donde me encuentre.

Hace unos días atrás realicé un recorrido de aproximadamente unos 7 kilómetros (o tal vez un poco más) desde la popular Plaza Brión de Chacaíto hasta Parque Cristal. En medio de esta caminata disfruté observando algunos murales coloridos que se encuentran entre los sectores Altamira y Los Palos Grandes, estructuras de edificios que simplemente me parecen espectaculares y, por supuesto, la inmensidad de nuestra montaña. Me resultaba casi imposible no tener mi teléfono a la mano con la cámara disponible para capturar cualquier cosa que mi ojo fotográfico me indicara. Quizás estas no son las mejores fotografías, pero son un bonito recordatorio de que la mejor manera de conocer y conectar con esta caótica pero hermosa ciudad es caminando.
I have always had the idea that the best way to get to know the city (or at least my city) is by walking its streets. In my opinion, it is the ideal way to connect with it and enjoy all it has to offer. I am a fan of taking walks through the streets of Caracas, discovering new places that I had no idea were there and enjoying the view of El Avila Hill from every corner where I am.
A few days ago I did a walk of about 7 kilometers (or maybe a little more) from the popular Plaza Brión in Chacaíto to Parque Cristal. In the middle of this walk I enjoyed observing some colorful murals found between the Altamira and Los Palos Grandes sectors, building structures that I simply find spectacular and, of course, the immensity of our mountain. I found it almost impossible not to have my phone at hand with the camera available to capture whatever my photographic eye told me to. Perhaps these are not the best pictures, but they are a nice reminder that the best way to get to know and connect with this chaotic but beautiful city is walking.
