Wednesday Walk and Make me Smile ....29.12.2021 Edition
My day today started with a beautiful sunrise. When I got up at around 8:00 AM, it was still dark and the first thing I did was to check on the sunrise. I prefer to have clouds in the skies when the sun rises because of the its reflections that make the clouds colorful!
But today, the morning started with a cloudless sky and at around 8:25 AM, the sun was visible on our East side. My list of errands had been long today, so after breakfast, I prepared myself to go down to the coast. The errands included bank transactions, hardware store, German meat shop and bits of other things.
After I was done with my errands, I decided to go to the beach. The beach is called Playa Las Lindes in Los Llanos. Along the street to the beach, I came across a garden of lovely flowers, so I took some shots to include them for my walk.
Playa Las Lindes
It is an area that is easily reached and is near the mid roundabout of Los Llanos ( there are 3 roundabouts in Torrox Costa). This is more a quiet area and has fine brown sand, it also has the largest beach area of all beaches in Torrox. It is more quiet here because there are no shops compared to the adjacent Ferrara Beach.
There are restaurants and small cafes as well as Chiringuitos (Drink stands on the beach) to cater to the needs of the sun seekers. Nowadays, the Chiringuitos developed into restaurant-like often located on the beach complete with BBQ area.
Most personnel speak German, after all, this former fishermen´s village had been developed by the Germans in the 70´s into a community for German retirees. A construction company led by a man named Hoffman constructed the high-rise buildings and named each building by Block numbers.
The lifeguard tower is new and replaced the old one... we sat here with our Rottie named Ako until 2007 and later our chihuahua princess called Lily also graced this platform before the pandemic.
The restaurant here in this area is called La Farola, which is frequented by the locals.. they are jampacked in Summer , a table would be hard to get , so one has to make reservations.
A tractor was seen today.... had been going up and down clearing the sand damaged by the big waves due to gusty winds last week.
The Promenade is one kilometer long. In 2010, the Town Hall decided to extend the construction of the Promenade until the El Morche proper...work is still ongoing as of this writing.
Below is also a small restaurant in the area, roof of which is fully covered by the Orange trumpet creeper (Pyrostegia-venusta). What a lovely sight, they really made me smile! So that is all for today, I hope to share more about the town we live in over the winter.
I am thanking
