Yesterday, Juliana and I went to the forest of the village of Vladaya to create this fairy tale. My wife created this Native American costume prop that I couldn't wait to photograph.
Juliana recreated the image in the best way. While he was changing costumes, tourists passed by, stopping to enjoy the scenes.
_And this photo became my favorite! I rarely get an adrenaline rush shooting a certain scene, but this one is just brutal. What do you think?
This is a forest spirit - samodiva. A mythical image from Bulgarian folklore._
They are women who have run away from their homes because they refuse to be subservient to their husbands. They are beautiful, wild and fabulous.
If a random person sees them in the forest, he should not look them in the eye, because he will go blind. If a shepherd likes a wild boar the only way to win her over is to outplay her, which is almost impossible.
Even if she falls in love with a man, a samodiva will never become a housewife. She is as real as a raging wild mustang horse. Inhabits high mountains and lakes. Her power lies in her veil and belt.
Look at Juliana. She is fabulous... I really want to make a film about this mythical Bulgarian character.
After our photos, we made a raw tomato, garlic, pepper and cheese salad. We quenched our thirst with cold lemonade. We made it with river water.
If you love photography and have crazy ideas to realize, then you need good friends with whom you can shoot anything.
She waded in the cold river, walked barefoot on the rocks and had a lot of fun. She felt free. I am thinking of launching a course on the platform for organizing just such atypical photo sessions with props, dresses, etc.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Bulgarian folklore hides many more secrets, which I will share with everyone. Our country is small, but terribly rich - naturally and intellectually.
