HOW DOES A PERSON STEER A BOAT WITH ONE HAND AND DRIVE A CAR ALL THE TIME?
**Humans seem to be programmed to always complain or wait for the right moment to do something we love. Today I will introduce you to a truly unique person! **
With the girl I'm training to be a photographer, we went to one of the biggest Bulgarian dams - Ogosta. I wanted to shoot a church that is half submerged in water, but I will tell about it in a separate story.
From the main road, we turned onto a dirt road, which literally ended at the dam after a kilometer. I remember on my last visit that there was a path leading to the church. Everything was in water now. Meters from the shore, there was a jeep parked literally in the dam, and the water reached half the tires. There was a boat behind the car, and an old man in a swimsuit and without one arm was doing something on the boat. Well, I'm used to talking to strangers during my photography trips... I walked up to the man asking loudly if he knew how to get to the sunken church.
He explained to us that the dam is currently very full and there is no road on foot or by car. Just before I was overcome with depression and a huge disappointment that we would go home with empty memory cards, the stranger offered to take us on the boat. He asks us what we are and where we are from. I said we were here to take pictures for my travel blog and if he would really take us we would be extremely grateful! When we got on the boat I kept asking if there was anything I could do to help. The man, however, refused any help, saying that in this condition he must fend for himself! He was really very positive, explaining that losing his arm was a ridiculous accident, but it didn't stop him from continuing his usual lifestyle. I admire such people, RESPECT!
THANKS FOR SHARING THIS STORY!
