Very close to the Black Sea town of Sinemorets is a magical place shrouded in legends.
In this small area, nature has created an impressive picture that attracts many tourists. The place is so called because the huge sheer cliffs look like docked ships. Legend has it that in the past there were many pirates around the town of Sinemorets. They lit bonfires on the high cliffs to attract passing ships. Once they got close enough, the pirates stole everything.
Pretty resourceful pirates...
Another legend says that there was a buried treasure under the city and the area. Which is perfectly normal if we assume that the legend of the pirates is true. Ceramic fragments from the 5th century and the Middle Ages were found during underwater research. More evidence to support the legend has been found in ancient anchors and parts of very old ships.
Around the rocks is the town of Sinemorets, the river Veleka and one of the few remaining virgin beaches in our country. If you are traveling to Bulgaria, you must visit this beautiful Black Sea region. Here, the sea waters are crystal clear, and there is no lack of animal life. Tourists often tell about chance encounters with roe deer, deer and other animal representatives.
I visited the SHIPS area with Magdalena, who is a very good family friend of mine. She genuinely enjoyed my bike / on which she had a flat tire due to a huge thorn /.
ON PLANNING A PHOTOGRAPHY ADVENTURE
When I took these photos I had not yet finished my photography course. I had not developed the habit of planning trips so that I would be in the right place at the most beautiful time of day. Magdalena and I drove 600 kilometers in one day to visit this place, and now looking at my photos gives me a headache.
So plan your trips very well.
