Dramatic stories happen every winter while traveling. This is one of them...
In the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia, the sun was shining. The temperature was around 5 degrees with very few clouds, which of course is not cool for photography. In fact, the distance we traveled to the monastery was 100 kilometers, and only in the last forest section of the road / 3 kilometers /, there was snow left, and ice under it. My car was on winter tires and yet it cannot climb a steep grade. We just stayed there. I am thankful to God that we did not fall into the ravine. Next to us was a huge chasm.
It's happened to me a million times, so I just left my friend in the car and went to get help. After a kilometer on foot, I reached the village. Several cars were parked in front of one of the first houses, one of which was a jeep. I called. An elderly man opened the door, who answered immediately, and we set off in the jeep towards my Renault. We removed the vehicle from the ice, leaving it in a safe place. The man offered to drive us to the monastery so we could still take the pictures.
Upstairs, the monk must have been fast asleep because he greeted us late and rather disheveled. I reserved a christening for my son in the month of May and launched the drone. I'm happy with the result! There are few pictures with snow in this place because it is really quite impassable.
Otherwise, we are next to the Glozhensky Monastery. The most beautiful Bulgarian monastery, built many years ago on a private rock. Centuries ago, this place was a fortress. And now many tourists are confused. The Bulgarian national hero Vasil Levski hid here during Turkish slavery.
On the way back, we stopped at one of the largest Bulgarian dams - Studena. With my remaining battery I was able to get the drone over the dam wall. I really find something quite dramatic about frozen water.
THANKS FOR SHARING THIS STORY!
I took the shots with a JI mini 2 drone, and the shot of the monk with Canon EOS RP / 85 mm
