Intramuros in 1587
Welcome to the 6th episode of our Nostalgic series. Today we will turn back the clock to 1587 in the walled city of Intramuros located in Manila Philippines. It almost feels haunting making these photos look old. Imagining how it was like when this fort was occupied by the Spanish during the 15th century. Hope you like them.
Nostalgic Dreams
A series to try and replicate old photos from the past. A reimagining of some of my previous and future works, artificially turning back the clock and relive days gone by.
To make the timeline more convincing the theme should not include modern-day items or structures.
Erasing modern-day traces to give a more convincing look from the past.
Some of the original photos and more details can be found here from my old account
Baluarte de San Diego.
In this episode I decided to also add the original photos so you could easily see the before and after results. My daughter is included in the photo and originally I wanted to change her outfit but found it too difficult as of now. I decided to remove her instead. Aside from that there were tourist on the right side and a car on the left side of the photo. Those were easily removed.
There are so many old buildings in Intramuros and you could see that they have been well maintained. Another photo that includes my daughter and would have looked amazing I able to change her outfit for this era. It is something I should learn how to do in the future. I also removed motorcycles and a car in this photo. I was able to remove some of the power cables but removing all of them would take a lot of time.
Here I took out the people who are doing a photoshoot and buildings over the horizon. I missed to remove the steel pole on the left, it could have looked better.
This photo didn't require a lot of editing, just some wires wrapped around the tree.
This Bastion is one of the most popular places to visit. The fort has seen many battles in the past and is now a great place to do a photoshoot.
I removed the buildings here but I don't think I did a good job on this. I had to add some more trees to remove some parts of the building and looks very much edited.
So many cannons can be found strategically placed around the walls of the fort. These are cannons from WW2 which has survived.
Here I just removed the people on the photo and the litter found on the ground. I just wished people know how to dispose of their garbage properly.
Placed on the upper walls of the fort are the ancient cannons from the Spanish era. I removed the skyscrapers on the left side leaving only the clock tower that is from this era. The clock tower building is haunted by the way.
This ends our time travel today and please let me know if you liked my work on these photos.
Thanks for spending time with me and hope you join me again on our next trip back thru time.
