Hey so I actually went to that place called Domaine de la Palissade I posted about before and even though I was busy enjoying the time with my daughter, I managed to make and recover a couple of photos😅. Yeah, the one in the Camargue that sounds like a fancy wine estate but is really just a huge, wild nature spot.
Located where the Grand Rhône meets the Mediterranean, this 702-hectare nature reserve isn't just another pretty landscape, it's a carefully managed ecosystem where conservation and access find rare balance.
What looks like empty marshland is actually a complex hydrological system of drainage canals and sluice gates, some dating back to the 19th century when this was still a working ranch. The Conservatoire du Littoral, which manages the site, actively regulates water levels to maintain habitat diversity.
