"In Sri Lanka a well-told lie is worth a thousand facts" — Michael Ondaatje
Last week I spent 9 nights on a beautiful island that used to be called Ceylon. I think it's a very romantic title. As you know now this beautiful land is called Srilanka.
What are my feelings? If this is not heaven, then it is definitely somewhere halfway in that direction. Amazing climate, rich nature and of course the charming population of the island

I can’t say that I deeply knew this country, by no means, it was only the first acquaintance. I so hope, in the sense that I can go there again.
We mostly spent time on the beaches, trying to relax and get away from the surrounding problems a little. But of course we could not deny ourselves the pleasure of a ride to the nearest sights.

We paid due attention to the local cuisine. Shrimp for breakfast, shrimp for lunch, shrimp for dinner, shrimp for dessert...just kidding. In fact, the day was built a little differently. Coconut in the morning, coconut in the afternoon, coconut in the evening... just kidding again. In fact, we tried everything we could, from scrambled eggs for breakfast, and fish soup, and of course, we ate a huge amount of tiger prawns

Prices on the island in comparison with world resorts are great. This applies to food products produced and extracted on the island. I do not want to write about the prices of imported products. It is especially painful to remember on the topic of alcohol sold on the island - this is again a joke

Each time we had lunch or dinner in a completely different cafe or restaurant. Moreover, our gastronomic tour started in the most unattractive establishments. It's funny, but quite often the size of the check in a decent restaurant was almost the same as the check in a dubious eatery. I met such a paradox in GOA

Transportation prices vary. For example, a brisk tuk-tuk driver will cheerfully tell you a price of 2,000 rupees. But if you are not in a hurry, then at the end of the row you can find a price of 300 rupees for the same distance.

The island's beaches are kept clean. Access to any of them is free. To gain access to a lounger and sun deck, you often need to simply buy a coconut for 200 rupees.
Ocean water is warm and relatively clear. The waves are gentle. They are very nice to ride.

Local features include frequent power outages. This happens several times a day. Therefore, every business owner has an alternative source of energy in the form of a diesel generator.
In general, games with access to electricity are becoming a global trend.
Access to wifi directly depends on the above described factor. Accordingly, it has a similar amplitude of presence and absence.

The road network of the island is in very good condition. Both paid and free routes are available.
The style and traffic rules have an indescribable local flavor. It is impossible to understand this process, it can be felt

In general, I want to note that I really liked it there. Sri Lanka has an indescribable atmosphere of peace and relaxation. We will definitely go there again!

Too bad the vacation ended so soon

That,s all for today.

Sincerely yours
