Monday, February 10 2025, on this happy occasion I would like to show again images from the results of very interesting insect photography, namely Acanthocephala terminalis. The insect that I am showing is brown in color with a very attractive appearance. We can easily find this type of insect on wild plants and in the area where I live here we can find it quite easily because there are still lots of wild plants here.
In the world of agriculture, this type of insect is also considered a pest by farmers because it can damage the leaves of plants. And what's even more interesting about this insect is that it can secrete a liquid that smells very strange so that if there are other animals who want to eat it, of course they can be protected by releasing this liquid.
I often find this insect and then it releases this liquid and it smells quite fishy. It is very dangerous if the liquid gets into the eyes and becomes painful. Acanthocephala terminalis is also a type of insect that has a very interesting appearance and if we were a macro photography map, of course we could also choose this animal as the moment.
This animal also has wings and it can fly but it is different from other animals which can fly long distances but if this animal wants to fly it can only fly a certain distance. When I saw this insect on wild flower plants and I really liked it and it was really cool to make this insect my favorite photographic moment at that time.
To approach animals like this, of course we have to have technique and we have to approach them slowly so that the insects don't get away from us. I took pictures at a distance of around 8 to 10 cm from the term so that I could produce interesting details and focus on this animal. He is in a wild flower plant and this is one of the places where he is that is good enough for us to use as a photography moment. There are also many wild flower plants in this place, so other plants also stop by these flowers.
