Over the years I have conditioned the Courtyard of my house to make it a place where the birds feel at ease and so I can take pictures of them. For this I have been planting some plants that are food for them. Blackberries are their favorite, especially for the Warbler that love to eat the fruits.
Of all the birds that visit me, one of the most territorial is the Zunzún Esmeralda (Cuban Esmerald), a tiny little green iridescent color that not for being small goes unnoticed, because I tell you they have mounted a guard in the place that do not let any other species approach.
The most fierce, as classified by the eBird platform, have deserved their nickname.
Photographing them is a challenge, it all depends on how they have the day, some look for their usual perch and there it is easier to approach, others, however, do not collaborate making the photographic art an epic odyssey.
I share with you some of the photographs I have been able to take.
All of them are photos taken by me with a Nikon D200 camera.
