or several years, I have been frequenting certain places in the city that do me a lot of good; among them is El Prado, a long park that stretches almost to the sea. Because it is so long, young people often use it to ride skateboard, so I decided to try to take a series of photos of them.

or varios años suelo frecuentar algunos sitios en la ciudad que me hacen mucho bien; entre ellos está el Prado, una especie de parque bien largo que llega casi hasta el mar. Al ser largo, los jóvenes lo usan mucho para montar patinetas, por lo que me di a la tarea de intentar hacer un barrido fotográfico con ellos.

It was a total failure. I thought it would be easier, to be honest. Since I had done it before with cars, I assumed it wouldn't be difficult, but I was far from the truth.

Fracaso total, pensé que sería más sencillo, la verdad; como lo había hecho anteriormente con los autos, supuse que no me costaría trabajo, pero estaba muy lejos de la realidad.

First of all, my camera doesn't have the same features as a more modern one. I still love it, but I find it a bit difficult to capture those images in motion.

Primeramente, mi cámara no tiene las mismas prestaciones de una más moderna; igual la adoro, pero se me dificulta un tanto lograr capturar esas imágenes en movimiento.

But far from discouraging me, it's quite the opposite. I see it as a challenge to overcome, and that excites me a lot.

Pero lejos de desanimarme, es todo lo contrario, lo veo como un reto a superar y eso me emociona muchísimo.

Most of these kids were learning, so they spent more time on the ground than skating, and since I was just getting started with this resource, we were all practically novices.

La gran mayoría de estos chicos estaban aprendiendo, por lo que pasaban más tiempo en el suelo que patinando, y yo que apenas estaba iniciándome con este recurso, éramos todos unos novatos prácticamente.

That's why some of the photos didn't come out completely in focus, or at least not the way I would have liked, but hey, the important thing is that I enjoyed it a lot and, as soon as I get the chance, I'll be back at it.

De ahí que algunas fotos no me hayan salido completamente enfocadas, o al menos de la forma que hubiera querido, pero bueno, lo importante es que lo disfruté un montón y, nada más tenga oportunidad vuelvo a la carga.
