It's supposed to be summer here in England, and well, this is what summer tends to be like for the past few years. Overcast and boring! Though I figured I'd get out and fly the drone around near the seaside anyway. Ignoring the wind and low amount of light and having a bit of fun. I suspected the wind would actually ruin the fun entirely, but surprisingly it actually wasn't that bad. I only had one slight scare capturing those images over the sea, to which I let it sit up there above the water for a while; only to realise that the wind was moving against me on my flight back. I watched the battery decrease rapidly as I was attempting to fly back to land, a bit spooked but that's the whole fun of having the drone, I guess! Gotta adventure around and try risky things.
I tried searching for composition in the area given I couldn't really fly over the water too much. There's a nuclear power plant in the distance that I would love to fly over to and capture on a day in which the wind isn't so threatening. That'd be quite a risky adventure indeed. Flying over the water and back. Instead I flew alongside the coastline, lightly over the water and capturing the ripples from above. I wanted to capture more of the little seaside shacks, though the colour just wasn't quite there and there was still a few people around, I didn't really want to bother them at all with the drone.
Funnily this isn't the first time I've tried to capture this area with the drone. Each time I go there it just seems the conditions aren't right. One time it started to rain, and the other two times it just wasn't very nice despite being the time the sun was starting to set. As always though , it's great fun having the drone to mess around with it. I haven't been out much lately, nor have I been doing any photography. But I should get back into it and take advantage of the few warmer days. I still think I took a few fun photographs, and even figured I'd throw one in of myself. A rarity for Liketu and Hive. No face, though! That remains hidden.
