Historically significant places have a special place in my heart. Otherwise, I like to hear about the details of our history, to learn some news about our ancestors and various stories about their adventures and what they did. One of such places is definitely Visegrad... but what is particularly fascinating is the bridge in Visegrad. The bridge was built in the 16th century over the Drina river, connecting the former Constantinople with Bosnia.
The bridge represents the endowment of Grand Vizier Mehmed Pasha Sokolović, vizier of the three most important Turkish sultans, among whom Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent stood out.
The number of visitors throughout the year shows how important this place is, and the locals say that the town is very visited throughout the year, even in winter.
The road to this city is quite accessible, and it takes about 3 hours by car from my hometown, which is not a problem considering the beauty that you can see when you come to this city.
Today I have prepared for you some pictures of the bridge and the nature that surrounds it and I am sure you will be delighted. Of course, the day could not pass without food, this time grilling, but if you are visiting this city for the first time, I recommend you to try their kebabs, I am sure that no other can compete with them.
