The other night i imaged the eagle nebula but while waiting for that target to rise above the fence i managed a cheeky 30 mins on the globular cluster Messier 10, it amazes me that these things above out heads are being drowned out by artificial light, the cluster is about 14k light years away with around 100k stars. There is a theory globular clusters are the remnants of captured dwarf galaxies, it would interesting to know how many of these are in the small & large Magalenic clouds.
The images i capture are from my 102mm altair refractor paired with a altair 269c dedicated astro camera chilled to -10*celcius. I am hoping to get a few more targets over the summer but short nights are not great for imaging, autumn will bring Mars back into imaging range which i am very excited about.
