Just like any good photographer we like to improve on previous projects, Andromeda being the closest main Galaxy it makes a wonderful wide field target whether it be a 135mm lens or an 80m telescope.
The images i shot where 3 years apart and in that time i can see my skills have improved as well as the gear used, the image above is my latest shot on my Starwave 80mm triplet telescope using an Altair 269c cooled astronomy camera, the image is made up of 405 x 30 second images shot on one night under nearly a full moon and the image was prossed using Siril a free astropohotography editing suite.
Now the old image i shot 3 years ago when i was a bit green and it does show mainly due to the processing, i no longer have the original image files to test my editing skills but the quality difference is chalk and cheese, i do wonder if in another few years when i revisit more targets i will have improved a lot more.
