Did you digest the beauty of the previous sub Episode or not yet? Hope you did cause there's more coming on this one. In the previous part I left you just after finishing with the rose garden of Marburg's palace and I am making my way to the main building step by step. On my way I see this little hut in the distance:
Intrigued about what it might be I step towards it. In between I find this monument that probably refers to Friedrich Schiller:
Look at that owl on this bench (right side):
I'm in front of this "hut" where I admire this bunch of flowers next to it:
The same goes for the tree that covers it:
As I try to have a look through its closed door I realise it's actually an entrance to something that I will never find out what:
What is easy to check though is the view from the terrace that is in front of it:
Not that the rest of the park around is anything not worth looking of course:
Look at that huge log:
Later at a split level of this garden I spot some huge and welcoming chaise lounges:
Wish I had the time to enjoy one of these but not this time. It's so heavenly to lie under this huge old trees here:
This corridor leads to some sort of balcony so I follow it as the view feels promising:
And it really is! Here's the North East part of Marburg viewed from the top:
The following path is also as promising so there I go:
At the end of it I arrive at this parking lot where this building on the left belongs to the local University:
Right next to it is the Landgrafen Palace:
Don't worry, there's better pictures of it from more friendly angles sun wise:
That tiny door on this fortified wall today holds the "no stop/parking" sign as peace has prevailed:
The view of Marburg from up here is fantastic:
And as I can see there's more viewpoints a few steps away:
Back in the day these walls kept the enemies away but today they have a much more pacific look and purpose:
The palace remains an eye catcher regardless the viewing angle:
Same goes for the overview of Marburg:
Even meters away from the edge the temple of Elisabeth literally stands out:
Here's a miniature of the palace:
I can picture Marburg all day from here as the sun gets friendlier and the air drier but here's my last two shots before I move on:
The clock is not spot on but who cares with looks like this:
This thing is massive, you really need a wide angle lens to capture it:
Time to step in so I make it up to its gate:
I like these sides too:
You still get some overview from here:
This is the entrance from inside:
And that's the view opposite side:
"Crimson" red is unsurprisingly the choice for doors, windows and shutters:
Impressive scalpture:
Anyone wonders what happens if you need a toilette? Well, you first have to pass this Crimson red door:
And then you go down a fair amount of stairs:
And if you look up on your way back out that's the view you get:
The following video kinda sums it up in 4K:
Hope you loved this long one, I surely did!
See you on the next one!
