Hi photography lovers,
I'm fairly new to PeakD, and have made a few photo posts so far that you can check out on my blog. I also wanted to give some context to the content.

I love macro photography because it allows both the photographer and viewer to experience a dramatically different change in perspective. It's all about perspective, actually. Perspective and scale.
One can come upon a flower like this and hold it at arm's length. But there's so much more happening on and within this flower than your eyes on their own could tell you. A macro lens allows us to see things as a small animal or insect would see them (as it relates to scale).
Water droplets become boulder-sized orbs, an ant becomes a giant, photosynthetic beings come alive with psychedelic texture and geometric excellence. It induces a feeling I would imagine Alice in Wonderland might have felt, especially when in nature. I feel like a child with a magnifying glass in a sun-speckled backyard. It inspires a sense of wonder in me. I'm grateful for that feeling.
Sidenote: Does anyone know what kind of flower this is? I found it somewhere in Southeast Asia.
