Staro zdanje was a palace that belonged to the Obrenovic dynasty, located in Arandelovac, Serbia. Construction started in 1856, and at first, it was meant to be a house of Parliament. When finished in 1872, with its 9,000 square meters of space, it was one of the most beautiful and largest buildings in Serbia. It became a court Of the Obrenovic dynasty and a unique cultural monument of Serbia.
After the assassination of the Serbian King Alexander Obrenović and his consort Queen Draga in May 1903, Staro Zdanje lost its significance.
3 years later Staro Zdanje became a hotel, and the guests were coming by a new direct railway from Belgrade. For a century it was a place of leisure and quality service, as well as an important meeting place for various cultural events.
In 2006, Staro Zdanje closed its doors to visitors and became a ghost hotel. Now it is turned into a ruin, due to human negligence and is often targeted by thieves and vandals.
