Standing on the banks of the Vardar River, Skopje is the capital of North Macedonia. It is located on the north–south Balkan route between Belgrade and Athens. According to the last official count from 2002, Skopje had a population of 428,988 inhabitants.
The city of Skopje is a strange combination of feelings and opinions in travelers, but you will definitely not remain indifferent.
Project Skopje 2014, drastically change the overall picture of the city. One would say it was needed so the multiethnicity that is present here could start a new and healthy life. The other would say it was the vision of an artist, to enrich and rebuild the forgotten history of Skopje.
