Thessaloniki Greece - seaside views
Thessaloniki is my hometown and the second largest city in Greece
with about 1 million inhabitants
It was founded in 316/5 BC by the Macedonian general Kassandros, who named it after his wife and half-sister of Alexander the Great, Thessaloniki daughter of Philip II
The city has one of the largest ports in the country and one of the longest seaside promenades in the Balkans
with a length of more than 5 km, from the Concert Hall at one end to the port at the other
from which I would like to share some recent photos I took
this promenade is often used for walks along it by local residents and tourists alike
as apart from the magnificent view they can also find some contemporary artworks
such as the sculpture "Umbrellas" by Giorgos Zongolopoulos
All images in this post were taken by me with Xiaomi Redmi 7
