We hope that everyone will have a relaxing and peaceful Sunday. Come and join us for a short drive and let's see what we can find.
Nothing strenuous and just a cool and easy drive today.
We wanted to go and check up on some geese babies and on the way, we stopped at a dam to get some shots of the views. I also like to keep an eye out on the sky, as I know that there is a pair of buzzards that also breed here somewhere. We had a south easterly wind that almost glazed the mountains with the Atlantic Ocean mist, but thankfully today the wind was not too strong. Still, one can see the glaze in the area, which makes the light not so good for photography.
There they are, flying above the tip of a a mountain peak.
And the one came over a bit closer for a semi-decent shot on my zoom. This is a Jackal Buzzard (Buteo rufofuscus).
In here below, I tried to get the willow tree a bit more to the center of the photo, with the mountains as a backdrop.
And then it was time to go to our destination.
A set of sprayers displayed a nice water curtain at the next farm's entrance.
Some lovely sunny reflections here.
And there they were. We have been keeping an eye on the goslings ever since we came to hear about them. The first thing that I do when we see them is to count the babies, and we were delighted that there were still 8 left.
Here below is a view of the ocean on our way back home.
There were 10 Egyptian geese goslings when we first saw them some weeks ago, but as there are many raptor birds and other predators around, losing only 2 of the 10 thus far is really good news. Real cute little critters that ape every move that the mother makes, to train them how to feed themselves. Another thing is that the dad has disappeared, as we have not seen him here for a long time, and we can only hope that he is safe. I will have to show you the cute feeding actions in the water in another post, as this post is now done.
Save for me to say that I hope you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.
