As usual they always chase each other around, but not this morning.
A real moving picture of a mother and child in our front garden.
The first two pictures are to show you that after the mother force trained them to learn how to eat, now that they know how, there is no more need for force, and only love on the day. There were 3 of them, but the light wasn't very good, so I chose to share only these 2 pictures.
Little did we know what awaited us later in the day, when we stopped to have some bean plunger coffee at one of our favorite spots.
And this below was later in the day at a coffee house.
Our table was below this tree and look what appeared.
The youth are very inquisitive nowadays and the two had a look at us at the table where we sat with our coffee.
So, the shy one at the right popped back up into the tree.
Found a hidden fruit and had lunch upside down.
The other one was more adventurous, and it decided to come down to investigate us. You can see the corner of our table at the left.
I think that it is a Myrtle tree and some of its fruits dropped down, so this little guy found one.
Unperturbed at our presence, he sat quite close to us below the tree to enjoy his bite to eat.
I love to see the tails of the young squirrels, as they are very colorful, especially in the afternoon sunlight. I mean, just have a look at this young one below, when we arrived back home. Full of color eating a sunbaked granadilla.
We wish you all to have a good Friday and a great weekend. The western Cape province is known for the abundance of squirrels, in the forests, towns, and cities. Where you find a nut or acorn tree, you will find squirrels, sadly, they have to change their diets as a destructive beetle arrived on our shores and many of the Oak trees are being cut down. Be that as it may, I think the squirrels will survive as they are very inventive, and I am sure that they will change their diets. They are probably already changing their diets, as we see many of them lately eating the fruits of trees, and that is a good thing because they don't bury the fruits and all of the seeds in their poop will result in many new fruit trees. The little critters like to have fun and we like to watch their antics.
I hope you have enjoyed the picture story.
