To sit and listen to the quiet near water is totally relaxing.
This little damselfly was on a boat to nowhere, but I liked the reflection.
Our summer season is gradually drawing to a close, and the fall colors will make their way onto the stage. Some of the trees are already starting to show their yellowing leaves, and now that the grape harvesting period has closed, the grapevines will also lose all of their leaves to prepare for winter. There are many changes between the seasons and differences of colors, but water stays the same throughout all seasons.
Another shot of the damselfly as it drifted along on the water.
This couple was on their way to the shopping mall:))
Lovely to look at.
Now here's the thing. These little water insects were very active in some areas of the pond.
Here is a closer look, and I think they are called Backswimmers, but we cannot be sure. Strange little critters that swim in circles on the surface of the water all the time.
Some more views of them below and they are not Water Skates.
Just to show you the difference, this is a Water Skate.
A lovely shot of a water flower.
And finally, this is what the lower end of the pond looks like.
We often visit here, as we also support a creche on the property with Papillon's outreach. There are many different activities on the property, such as Padel courts, archery, cycling trails, wine tasting, motorbike sidecar tours, shopping, and markets, to name a few. We like to visit the pond when there are no people around, as we prefer the quiet. Humans, in general, opt for the noisier, busier, crowded places where they feel a part of something. We enjoy this too, but the noise everywhere gets so much on some days, that we long for the silence, for the peace, for the aloneness. Where we have time to contemplate and reflect on this life, and how others can be better helped to also find peace through this journey we all have to walk. Without that ultimate peace, everything is one long tedious slog, and without love for others, everything else is pointless. It is a thing about priorities. Do we all have our priorities right, where we put others first and strive for peace and love? This is what we must work toward, otherwise everything will be for nothing.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
