I have some more pictures to show you at the town Robertson, in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
Just a Welcome to you before we look at the nasty big guys, and as usual I also have some much nicer photos to share in here.
Oh yes, they are very big critters, and I wouldn't advise anyone to try and go for a swim in this deep dam :)
I kept an eye on his eye, as I was hoping for him to open it fully, but this peep was the best that I could get.
The Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) is the largest of the four crocodile species found in Africa. They have a long tail and powerful jaws. Their back feet are webbed for swimming. They can grow up to 20 ft (6.1 m) in length and can weigh up to 1,500 lb (680 kg).
The Nile crocodile is carnivorous. It eats bigger animals as it grows. Young crocodiles eats insects and small fish, while adult crocodiles may catch and eat zebras, antelopes, wildebeests and buffalo. The Nile crocodile will attack anything, even other crocodiles. The males are usually bigger than the females.
Oh, and there were two of them.
Now for something else, more lighthearted
A bit of patience and sweet whispers, then come and look what happened,
Ah! A sheer pleasure for the little guy to have his head scratched. Of course, the wife started sniffing.
Hello, hello, hello, come and play with me pretty please.
Look how glad I am, as you are the only people that I have seen thus far today.
Look at that blissful face as the wife started pampering him.
And then the floodgates opened, and I led my wife out in a valley of tears.
I knew that it was a mistake to go into the lanes of all the bird cages, and even as we entered, I felt that choking feeling in my chest. We hate to see captive animals, so bad that we don't even visit zoos. But that's a story for another time and save it to say that we got ourselves out of there in a great hurry. On the way from Montagu to Robertson I took a lot of photos of landscapes and other interesting sights that I will share with you in the future.
For now, just a peep at the road before we turned into Robertson. This is more of the things that I love to take photos of.
The wife bought some lovely bookmarks in Montagu with some great inscriptions, and I repeat one for you here.
This one is in particular more suited to our friends at #silverbloggers
