Right, I am back and some of our daily power cuts are now 4 hours long.
We now move into a later period of the cars in hall 3 at the museum.
We are still at the Franschhoek Motor Museum, and this is the third hall of the total of four halls at the museum. I have published the link to the motor museum website in the posts of the first and second halls, and I will post the link again later in this post. It was so great to stroll through the halls, and to allow one's mind to wander in the past. In some instances, I could see the original proud owners standing next to their brand new cars, with broad smiles on their faces. Of course, by now, most of the original owners have left this planet and they are somewhere in a better place.
So come and walk with us.
The first photo is of this DKW 1938.
Then we had this beautiful little Austin.
The famous Ford Model T 1923.
Now how is this for a lovely Merc. Convertable?
This was a big surprise for me, as the company normally makes much smaller cars.
Look how long this car is!
Are you also surprised that it's an Alfa Romeo?
The MG is another of my favorites.
Ah! And this beauty! Also brings back great memories.
I think that you can see the earlier traces of a well-known car below.
Finally, the last two cars were some of the most popular vehicles ever built, and some of them are here on our roads, still every day.
Now I do not know where they got this bicycle, and I think that it was called a Pennyfarthing. How would you like to go for a spin on this cycle?
No, don't ask as I have never had a chance to take a ride on one of those old bicycles. To tell you the truth, I don't even know how a person would get on to the saddle, never mind going for a spin:)
You will have to wait a little bit for my delivery of the final Hall 4, as we are battling severely with the power cuts here. I hope to do it at some time on the weekend. Maybe Saturday, but we are strapped for time and I will see how it goes.
I also still have the Motorbikes that were displayed in all four halls, and they will all fit into one post, but I can do that at some time in the future, depending on if you want to see them. There is one called a Norton, that I was very much interested in, as it has a great history.
But for now, this is Hall 3.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the historical cars.
And That's All Friends.
