Before I go on with the Hopefield Town series, I want to show you what happened here on Monday. We were lambasted by some severe floods in most of the coastal towns and also inland in the areas below the mountain rivers.
They woke up in the morning, prepared to go to work, but they couldn't get out of the complexes due to the road being flooded and now closed.
You can see more videos of the damages at the two safe links below:

Some hectic times over here lately, as these floods are much worse than the one that we had during this time last year. I mean that we saw bridges and roads washed away, houses roofs blown off and people in the townships losing everything as the water turns their shacks into boats on their way to the stormy sea.
was called out to a flooded township, but we couldn't drive in, as a police van stopped the cars from entering. But we made a plan by issuing some vouchers for dry blankets and food, to a senior police officer who is on Papillon's board.
The 4 pictures of the floods below were sent to my wife's phone, by a good friend.
2 Showing that the townships had a bad time.

But then the established houses didn't have a good time either.

I took more photos of the floods near our home here below.
An uprooted tree got stuck under a bridge. What we have seen some years ago, is that the water pushes a tree sideways and then the weight of the water pushes the tree upwards to break the bridge.
Emergency repair of a burst water pipe.
The river was coming down off the mountain at a monstrous speed, smashing all in its way.
We popped down for a look at the beach and you can see how the high tide waves washed over this road. Leaving its signature of sand behind.
And finally, can you believe it? Some guys were out kite surfing. One monster wave might arrive, and then they would have to scoot up very high in the air, or run on the water.
Some very bad times over here and also further afield. It shows us how vulnerable we are to the whims of nature. Nature doesn't care for race or how rich and how poor we are, as it strikes all regardless of who and what they are. Just goes to show that we are focused on the wrong things in this life. Some strive for popularity, others waste their time striving for earthly riches, and yet others strive for titles. But it is all meaningless, as we have to recognize our vulnerabilities and the things that we cannot control, such as nature, during our short journey on this planet.
"How can we not be humble in the knowledge that we are mere blips of biology on a tiny watery rock somewhere in an unimaginably vast universe?"
