...and it's always a pleasure to see how the clouds fold over the peaks.
Early morning shots and at the time I saw a band of cloud developing below the top of the mountains. I took some lovely landscapes of the band, as I had an idea what the views would look like later in the day, that I will show you in another post. So, we returned later in the afternoon, and we were happy to see what happened with the band of cloud. If you love mountains and landscapes as much as we do, then you will also like the views in here.
But for now, let me just show you some of the morning shots.
Come and see.
See that band of cloud above the ground, that is what I was talking about to get later in the day.
The weather was holding up today, and although it was a cool day, as we are in winter here now, a weak winter sun was also shining on occasion. I have said in the previous post that the mountains can form their own clouds, and this was another of such occurrences. Beautiful to see how the clouds blanket the mountains. Thankfully a gentle wind was in action, and none of those hair-raising wind gusts.
On the other side of these mountains are some even higher mountains further inland, and can you believe that they are in the summer rainfall area. We have a Mediterranean climate here and the Atlantic Ocean is just a few kilometers away from us. So, the ocean also has a great effect in our weather patterns. Long white sandy beaches are packed with the visitors during the holiday periods.
Finally, just a look at a single mountain towards the north of our mountain range. Lovely how that cloud rests on the left-hand peak.
As human beings we are so strange, as most of us are born with a want. I want this, I want that, and if I get it then I am not satisfied as I want more. Striving after our wants is a waste of time as we miss out on life and how it was supposed to be. Every new generation comes along with new things and most of it requires a faster response of adaption for the older generations. Just the other day I had to make calls through a switchboard operator and nowadays I can make a direct call on my wife's mobile phone.
Unheard of in the 50's. I still have a turntable and a pack of records in a cupboard, and also an original old telephone. But those days, along with its strict ethics and morals, have now been binned, as anyone can do just what they like, whether it is legal or not. The media is filled with horror stories that fills one with dread, and things are really becoming a madhouse. That's one of the reasons that we like to visit the sanity of nature, as it is almost a doctor's treatment every time.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
