We ordered two milk shakes as a rare treat when we arrived at the wine farm restaurant.
A Coffee shake and a Strawberry shake with blobs of ice cream inside, as it was very hot.
An unexpected event occurred, but I first want to show you our milkshakes.
Not every day that I get a strawberry milkshake with ice cream inside and it is a pleasant taste to exercise one's throat muscles by drawing the stuff through a straw. Slurping away like a little boy was my joy.
My wife had the coffee flavored one and they are made with real fresh cow's milk. I bet that by now you would want one too :)
Yes, there were clouds on the mountains, driven by the high winds but that didn't bother us, as we love to see it.
A lovely setting outside in the fresh mountain air.
Slurp, slurp for a long while and the glass was empty.
The same with my glass and I thought to show you the artistic patterns in the empty glasses.
Afterwards I stood taking photos of the mountains and wow, a sudden, a mad gust of wind screamed across the mountains. Maybe running between 40-60 kph and headed straight towards us.
Mister wind started to clear the tables and the people fled inside the restaurant.
Yep! Mister wind is definitely not a careful waiter in the cleaning of the tables.
Rapidly, the sky started filling up with clouds and it was time for us to go. Thankfully, we had finished our milkshakes :)
And finally, this below was an early end to our day.
Now I can understand the tricks that these very strong gusts of wind played on the old sail ship captains. One moment all is fine, and the very next moment a wind of such force would strike the ship that it stood no chance to stay afloat. Our coast is littered with the skeletons of the old ships.
That force can uproot big trees like matchsticks, and if it is mixed with rain it will cause the severe floods that we have had in various inland towns recently. The bad thing is that more floods are expected this weekend across the country. Much damage has already been caused, with roads collapsing, housing destroyed, and thousands left that lost everything.
Some persons were performing a baptism ceremony in the knee-high water of a river, and the next moment a wall of water hit them with 15 drownings.
Note, there was no rain at the baptism event, but there were floods higher up in the river. And that was the cause of the wall of water flowing down river. One liter of water weighs one kilogram, and 100 or more kilograms no human, house, bridge, road, car, or animal can withstand.
The weather is really wild here in Africa lately, and also all over the world.
And That's All Friends.
