Especially for those that are snowed under with icy temperatures.
I will show you how the sun sinks down behind a mountain at the coast.
The day was windy, and the sky was cast over with cloud, but that didn't deter me from grabbing a sunset. Somehow, I just knew that I would get something on camera, and I will show you the results of my efforts in here. It is now summer here, and the schools are closed until next year. South Africans love to have holidays at the sea, and they come from far and wide inland, travelling down to the coastal towns. So, the beaches will be packed with people again, and the parking spaces for one's car will become scarce.
Not to mind, as we are used to it and we are currently searching around inland for a short two-day break. Trouble is that everything becomes doubly expensive during the Christmas season, and we don't like to stay in hotels. Preferably a small bed-and-breakfast will be found as they are always much cheaper. So, we will see what we can get, and if there is nothing then we will just remain at home.
This late afternoon shot prodded me to go and see if there would be a sunset, crazy hey as you will never expect to get the sunset from this view below.
We arrived late at the high spot where I take the sunset shots, and thankfully I could catch the sun at the top of a low cloud at its descent into its destiny.
You can see the outline of the buildings at the waterfront, and the black line was the sea.
The sun gave me a last peep as if to say goodbye.
Finally, the sun disappeared behind the mountain.
This was the overall view when we left to go home.
And there it was, my crazy idea to get a sunset paid off handsomely methinks. One has to listen to gut feels as most times they demand action, and so many of us just ignore them. If you feel, in your gut, that something or someone will be a problem, I beseech you to listen to your gut feel. We recently had some lovely rain, but we expected it after a sun halo that appeared to signal that rain was on its way. I have posted the sun halo a few days ago, and I have even made a video of the rain that I will show you sometime.
But for now, this is it and we wish all on Hive and your families a happy festive season.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
