Good Friday is quite a festival like event in the Philippines. Every place other place in the Philippines which is not near a church, streets will be devoid of life and will look like a ghost town because of this celebration. Our small towm of Sibonga was not an exception. I'm not a Catholic believer myself but I still find it fascinating and thus made time to take pitik shots of this wonderful event.
My focus for this session are the statues of Jesus Christ. In our town each Baranggay have made their own replica statue of Jesus Christ and so I took the chance to take a shot at them. Obviously I can't post all but I posted the ones that I think are the best shots I got. I did have a 100+ or close to 200 shots of people but honestly I don't feel like posting it coz all of them are staged pictures which I don't really like unless it's a photoshoot session. I'm more of a candid person so yeah...
All of the statues are colorful and were well designed to be honest. I even had a hard time making these shots coz the surroundings is packed with people due to the Procession is currently happening. I had to move around so much to find the perfect angle where peoples heads are not popping into the frame 😅 coz honestly it's distracting 😅 Thankfully some the people who saw me taking the pictures were kind enough to move out of the way for a few seconds to give me the space I needed so thank you to the people who made these pictures possible 😍.
I've got to say though the effort the people have done to show their love and faith during this event really is amazing. To me the "Good Friday" was a literal "Good Friday" to me coz I've got some great shots that I can honestly be proud of. Is it good enough to compete with other "PRO" photographers? Maybe not but I love all of them all the same.
Anyways this is all for me today guys. I hope y'all like and enjoy these photos till next time guys, see yah!
