My in-laws live in a small city close to Den Bosch in North Brabant. Currently, we're visiting them to help them with renovation of their house. Actually, my husband is helping them and I'm free to spend my time doing whatever I want to do. Well, that would be awesome if the weather would be a bit better as I like to spend time outside. We had a windstorm last night, and it's raining all day today.
It was way too cold and windy yesterday, but I saw a beautiful sunset from the window and decided to go for a walk and show you around.
There are small canals all over the city. I think this is what most cities in The Netherlands have in common. There is a lot of water everywhere - plenty of canals, creeks, small lakes, etc. I like it as it gives me vacation feeling even when I come here for a few days.
I stayed in the neighbourhood and walked around some streets that I know. I don't feel comfortable wandering around alone in the evening, so I stayed close to home.
The clouds were moving fast and the sky was changing colour every few minutes. It was fascinating to watch.
It was a quiet evening, and I only came across a couple of people with their dogs. If it wouldn't be so windy I would enjoy it even more. At some points I had issues to keep my phone steady in my hands 🙂
Those clouds were so dramatic...
I was only focusing on the sunset and the clouds when I realized that there were stunning reflections in the canal too!
After a few minutes, the sky was changing from yellow to orange and pink...
The tree in the middle is my favourite. Every time we come here I take a photo of this tree as it's stunning during every season. I might put together a bunch of photos from different times, so that you can see it too 🙂
It's a pity you can't see the wind on the photos...
My father-in-law loves his flowers. He takes a great care of them and they thank him with such beautiful buds...
And this is how the flower looks like once it's opened...
Spring is in its full bloom here as well...
A little bit later I asked my husband to join me outside as I wanted to share the experience with him. He could still enjoy the last moments of the sunset. Then we walked around a bit more before heading back home. He wanted to take a break from the renovation too.
I was waiting for a few minutes to take a photo with no cars, but they kept coming, so I gave up. The focus is the sky anyway, so a few cars don't matter 🙂
Magnolias have the most stunning flowers of all trees. Sadly, their blooming season is way too short, but now it's the right time if you want to enjoy them.
The streets are buzzing with life during the day, but in the evening we had them only for ourselves.
I'm a big fan of Dutch architecture and interior design. I can imagine myself living in a house like this one day.
Generally, Dutch cities are green with many trees and bushes, and being here makes me happy every time.
It was getting dark and my mother-in-law was waiting for us with delicious dinner, so it was time to go home.
Yesterday I was complaining about the wind, but I would gladly exchange it with today's rain 🙂 Let's see how the weather will be tomorrow.
Until the next time...
