Greetings, friends photography lovers
The sea is one of those landscapes where you can not only take beautiful photographs but also enjoy an atmosphere with a very special energy.
That day, my sister and I went to the central coast in La Guaira state, on Venezuela’s northern coast. It’s an area that’s easily accessible via a highway that leaves the city of Caracas and connects the capital with the towns in this state.
After passing through the two tunnels, you reach the coast and that vast sea that bathes the entire northern part of my country.
We took a bus from Caracas to La Guaira, and from there we took another van to one of the beaches in the Camurí area. There are many along the way, but we got off at a beach resort called Bahía de los Niños, which owes its name to the gentle waves.
However, as soon as we arrived at the beach and saw the sea, we realized it wasn’t gentle at all. Even though it was early, the waves were crashing hard and had knocked over more than one swimmer.
The water was reaching the area where the beach umbrellas with our belongings were set up and getting them wet. The lifeguard very kindly came over and placed our shoes on top of the umbrella.
“The sea is rough today because of the moon’s influence,” he told us. “Be careful when you go in the water. Because the highest tides occur during a new moon.”
And that’s how it was for most of the day—the sea remained rough. The lifeguards were very vigilant and had to pull out several children who were swimming without their parents’ supervision.
In the afternoon, things began to calm down; the waves grew gentler and the mountain breeze grew cooler. That was when I was able to enjoy a swim in the sea.
The mountains were cloudy. This is one of the features of these beaches that I find beautiful: their proximity to the mountain range, which is full of lush vegetation and rivers that flow through it and reach the sea.
The birds in the sky completed this typical seascape.
Thank you very much for reading this far. I hope you enjoyed it.
