Now, this is something new for me and its a real test of all creatives... Photographer and even moreso the model!!
Shooting underwater, well the model is... I'm sat in a black tent positioned at the side of a water tank with a great big window in, shooting through it..
Having a great model is imperitive for these shoots, everything has to be done slowly and gracefully, ideally while having no air in your lungs so that you sink a bit and dont have air bubble coming out of your nose/mouth.
The photographers are working with limited light, so the shutter speed is quite low, or the iso high, or of course finding the play off.. However, the tank is lit by 3 led panels... 1 through a window at either end of the tank, and one 45degrees above.. But shoot any higher than 160th and you run the risk of being out of sync with the light above....
So. I've said this a bit and I think its a decent saying, "If you don't go home tired - You've not worked hard enough" and with nearly 2000 images from a 4 hour shoot, I was knackered, and the models were visably tired.. But I think the results are well worth the effort!
There's loads and loads of images from come from this place, and luckily I don't live far from it! 20 minutes drive. I've booked my own day there with mates and some belting models... I can't wait.
